Productivity & time management

Can’t see your desk for the papers? Stacks of business magazines you mean to read? Endless meetings, but no time to get your own work done?

Never the peace and quiet to think ahead? Always chasing latest and loudest, and the really important stuff gets filed away for later? No work/life balance? Your creativity suffocates beneath the day-to-day worries? Always feeling antsy, but don’t really know why?

Unable to focus? Always tackling ten things at the same time? But you never really seem to finish them to satisfaction? Having lots of wonderful ideas but not the traction to actually act upon them?

Chronic procrastinator? Promising projects run ashore for vague reasons? Just recovered from a burnout, but if you continue like this …

Getting Things Done

Working effectively and efficiently doesn’t just fall into your lap: it’s a skill you need to achieve.

What’s the best way to process e-mail? How do you deal with interruptions? What does and doesn’t go on your calendar? What do you do with a briljant idea for work on your day off? How do you make sure you don’t forget that promise you made?

You can learn from your own experiences, but that takes time and it’s always limited to your own skills. It’s more effective and efficient to use the most extensive collection of productivity best practices: the Getting Things Done method by David Allen.

A clear step-by-step program helps you stay on top of the daily flow of information. Once you’ve achieved that, you can work on what’s really important for you and/or your organization. (Want to learn more about the GTD method? Read the article What is GTD? A non-technical explanation on my weblog weblog.)

Learning the GTD method is simple enough. A usable foundation can be taught in a four hour workshop, either individually or (for a company) in groups.

To make the GTD method into a vital, indispensable habit takes a bit more time. I can initiate, guide and support this process, again individually (coaching) or in groups (training). This takes three times four hours, scattered over a period of four weeks.
